Direct Seeded Rice as Resource Efficient Technology

چکیده

In Asia, seedlings are typically transplanted into puddled soil to cultivate rice (Oryza sativa L.). Due of the manpower, water, and energy requirements this manufacturing system, it is becoming less lucrative as these resources become more scarce. Additionally, impairs soil's physical qualities, negatively impacts performance succeeding upland crops, increases methane emissions. Different issues, such a declining water table, manpower shortage during peak seasons, worsening quality, need use alternate establishment techniques maintain both natural resource yield. its low input requirement, ability reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adjust climatic hazards, direct seeded (DSR) technique has gained lot attention popularity in recent years. Dry seed must be sown ready seedbed, while pre-germinated standing puddles soil. Many farmers have switched from DSR culture result introduction early maturing cultivars, application effective fertiliser management techniques, increased adoption integrated weed strategies. certain industrialised nations, USA, Australia, Japan, China, Korea, technology heavily mechanised. By switching conventional DSR, crop requirements, organic matter turnover, improved nutrient management, carbon sequestration, intensification will all significantly reduced. The transition PTR hampered by number factors, including high infestation, development weedy rice, an increase soil-borne diseases (nematodes), nutritional disorders, poor establishment, lodging, prevalence blast, brown leaf spot, etc. addressing limitations, may show very viable, economically technically viable substitute for PTR.

Impact of Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) For Resource Conservation

Puddling doesn’t have much influence on rice yields. Many changes and innovations have contributed to the expanding use of resource conserving technologies in the country. One of the most important has been the development, testing and marketing of a low cost seed-cum-fertilizer drill which can establish crops with a minimum of soil disturbance, can take best advantage of residual soil moisture...

Response of Rice Genotypes to Weed Competition in Dry Direct-Seeded Rice in India

The differential weed-competitive abilities of eight rice genotypes and the traits that may confer such attributes were investigated under partial weedy and weed-free conditions in naturally occurring weed flora in dry direct-seeded rice during the rainy seasons of 2011 and 2012 at Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The results showed genotypic differences in competitiveness against weeds. In weed-free p...

Traits and QTLs for development of dry direct-seeded rainfed rice varieties

The development of rice varieties for dry direct-seeded conditions can be accelerated by selecting suitable traits. In the present investigation, traits hypothesized to be important for direct-seeded conditions in rainfed systems, including seedling emergence, early vegetative vigour, nutrient uptake, nodal root number, and root hair length and density, were characterized to study the genetic c...

Molecular Mapping of QTLs Associated with Lodging Resistance in Dry Direct-Seeded Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Dry direct-seeded rice (DSR) is an alternative crop establishment method with less water and labor requirement through mechanization. It provides better opportunities for a second crop during the cropping season and therefore, a feasible alternative system to transplanted lowland rice. However, lodging is one of the major constraints in attaining high yield in DSR. Identification of QTLs for lo...
